Czech Republic: Companies register higher quality knowledge among graduates
Almost 54% of companies believe that the quality of graduates’ knowledge and skills has improved.
A third say it has remained constant, while 13% are of the opinion that it has deteriorated.
Upwards of 20 students are applying for each vacancy.
These are the results of a large-scale poll conducted by Jobs.cz among students and graduates of secondary schools and universities in April.
The job board Jobs.cz has held the tenth year of its virtual job fair, the 2010 Students and Graduates Month.
The main findings include a positive outlook for the possible relaxation of the flexi-job market. Up to 53% of companies are planning to offer graduates the opportunity to work part time, contribute on a project-by-project basis, etc. This indicates a positive shift in the corporate mindset, as a year ago only 31% of companies were planning to offer alternative forms of employment.
In all, 80% of students agreed that their schooling had adequately prepared them for the world of employment. On the other hand, they are concerned about their lack of experience.
Almost 53% of company representatives have registered an improvement in the quality of graduates’ knowledge and skills.
